Vulgarythm lands on Modular Carnage with ‘Diverted Directive’

Vulgarythm aka Kyle Pechino is a dark horse hailing from Gibraltar’s electronic music scene having released on immrsv audio, Parallel Depth and Audiogore.

His musical influences in Drum & Basd range from Noisia, Emperor and Bass on the harder side, to Hybris, Exept and OaT on the more deep and techy side.

His main influences however, are science and nature itself, with the potential applications such as those covered in sci-fi and cyberpunk stories and films. He actually even wrote a story to go along with ‘Monobe’…

Meet FASE (FULLY AUTOMATED SPACE EXPLORER). Fase is humanities first fully AI robot, destined to be the first being to discover habitable worlds and potentially, life outside our solar system. Following decades of debate whether AI is dangerous or not, humanity found a compromise and accepted that AI could be the next best step in tech advancement, but as climate change was confirmed irreversible, and there were still concerns about human safety, we decided to activate the first AI being far away from humans. That’s when Fase was developed. Fase left Earth with a regular programmable core, enough computational power to perform a slingshot manoeuvre around our sun and activate the solar sail for longer travel. Once the solar sail was in full effect, Fase’s fully AI core was automatically activated, and after one year of orientation, his primary directive was revealed to him; travel to Proxima Centauri b and confirm habitable potential. Following this, communication between Earth and the ship was limited to one way, in order to avoid human corruption upon Fase’s mission. Two-way communication will commence upon approaching Proxima b. “Monobe” is what Fase refers to his emotional state after 192 years of space travel with no connection to any living being. Feeling loneliness without possessing the understanding of why. A glimpse of hope exists within him, as there are 8 years left before arriving at the Proxima Centauri system; nothing in comparison to the time that has felt like an unjustified punishment…

Always innovative and perpetually experimenting, expect Vulgarythm to open his mind and sometimes his heart in his music.

He joins the crew at Modular Carnage Recordings with a sublime, heavy-hitting 2 tracker ‘Diverted Directive / Monobe’. The tracks drop on Friday 28th May.

Today we premiere ‘Diverted Directive’ which you can check out below. Make sure you grab yourselves a copy of the tracks using the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
