Native C & KKoi drop ‘Deeper / Bad Trip’ on Modular Carnage

Share

Next up for the crew at Modular Carnage Recordings is a wicked new 2 tracker from Native C and KKoi. The tracks called ‘Deeper’ and ‘Bad Trip’ are a trip to the dark side of Drum & Bass with KKoi adding some powerful lyrics.

Hailing from Norwich in the east of England, Native C’s Drum & Bass journey started in 2007 when he bought his first Mac and a copy of Logic.

Raised on a diet of death metal, hip hop and chillstep, Native C was never going to produce an orthodox style of Drum & Bass. His influences can be seen in his tunes: the delicate atmospheres, combined with the dirty basslines make for something a little different.

“My main goal with any track is to convey an emotion. A lot of D&B producers will sit there and get a drum pattern and bassline down first to get that loop – I work a little differently. I always think if you do that, you constrict the track from the get-go. It’s about creating a vibe first, finding the right sounds that sit best together. Once this is there, the D&B element takes shape fairly easily. If you get that vibe down first, you’re not going to sound like every Tom, Dick and Harry.” – Native C

KKoi is a Ghanaian-Irish MC hailing from Cambridge in the UK. His passion for rapping came from listening to the Grime and Garage genres which he then developed into his own style through studying live shows across the UK’s Drum & Bass scene. With ravers commenting on his diversity, double-time flows, and the connections he makes with them. It’s extremely refreshing for an artist to bring something new to the music industry. KKoi’s high energy and ability to hype up the crowd comes second to none with his technical lyrics and energetic bars allowing everyone to get involved.

Today we premiere ‘Bad Trip’ which you can check out below. The 2 tracks drop via Modular Carnage on all platforms on 9th July and are available for you to grab using the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
