Wreckless drops ‘Tactician’ EP on Rebel Music

Wreckless is a Drum and Bass artist from the UK. His first release was signed by Peer Pressure in 2011. Following this Wreckless has released music with Dispatch Recordings, Flexout Audio, Addictive Behaviour and AutomAte.
His initial interest in Drum & Bass was through borrowing tape packs and lurking at the back of local record shops, listening to pirate radio. Eventually, when he was old enough, he started raving at The End. This sparked a dedication to electronic music. As a Drum & Bass artist and DJ the sound could be described as off-beat, hard, inspired by 90s, but with some soul and groove. “It is music for people who don’t really ‘fit in’!”
Now, Wreckless brings his unique signature sound to Rebel Music with his heavyweight EP entitled ‘Tactician’. This is Wreckless’ debut release on the ever-growing imprint. Rebel Music are quickly becoming recognised for their quality releases and unrelenting schedule of outputs.
Wreckless was recently one of the participants of Rebel Music‘s Dub Wars Production Battle Clash Tournament. This saw some amazing tracks being produced in only a matter of days and really pushed the contenders out of their comfort zones.
His latest EP opens with our premiere ‘Optogenetics’. Kicking off with big beats, monstrous bass and a hard stepping line full of funk and flavour, ’97 with a twist. ‘Armour’ sees Wreckless team up with long time friend Necrobia, a breakbeat workout guaranteed to get your skank on. It’s cold intro pulling you in before the beats and bass hit you in the face harder than a shot from Mike Tyson!
‘Tactician’ is a deep adventure full of texture and beautiful drum edits. Its infectious groove is impossible to get away from. With piano keys and haunting strings that really add the perfect atmosphere. The EP is rounded off with ‘Winters Night’, aptly titled its ambience and tone set the mood. The perfect finish to this release.
