BRAIN & Wreckless link for Dispatch’s 150th release

Renowned for their own distinctive sounds, the next release on Dispatch Recordings brings together two producers with their own unique takes on drum and bass. Perfectly complementing each other’s style, BRAIN and Wreckless give us three tracks that make up Dispatch’s 150th release to reveal a creative pairing that we hope to see more of.

Opening up the release is ‘Enhanced Realism’ which strips back complex production methods to enhance the key components of old distorted Emu breaks, classic filters and short verbs to give us that classic ‘warehouse’ tonality.

For our premiere ‘Perpetual Motion’, Wreckless shows us his first foray into a less syncopated style, maximising the straight step grooves that BRAIN does so well. The bass seems to continually fall throughout the track, working in contrast with the groove for maximum effect.

Finally, ‘Incendio’ is a minimal stepper packed with a dirty acid filter bass, and that trademark Wreckless syncopation carries throughout the track, rounded nicely with deep pads and the minimal flavours BRAIN is known for. Perhaps the standout track on the release this really one captures both producer’s individual styles well.
