Frame joins Unchained with his ‘Arabic Gum’ EP

Unchained Recordings welcome Frame to the label with his debut release with the crew in the shape of his ‘Arabic Gum’ EP.

The Italian Drum & Bass scene has gone through numerous waves of growth over the years, and has been supported by a few inspirational and dedicated crews with strong roots in original rave culture.

Rikki Calliari, aka Frame, is a unique part of this growth wave and the ever-evolving bass movement in Europe. As a DJ, producer and co-founder of Rude Sound, Frame has seen a plethora of releases across multiple labels that span the diverse frontiers of bass – including The Dreamers Recordings, Delta9 Recordings and Influenza Media.

Unchained Recordings tell us “We are really excited to welcome Frame into the famiglia, with his debut release on the label, the ‘Arabic Gum’ EP”.

Centring around quirky danceability, the title track’s middle eastern flavours raise an otherwise menacing dark stepper into an exquisite blend of hypnotic Drum & Bass, followed closely by an even weightier smooth roller, ‘Blonde or Brunette’. ‘Good Feeling’ arrives just in time for summer with uplifting synths paired with cheeky horn samples and hefty subs. Then, ‘In My Mind’, Frame reworks the 90s Jungle sound complete with minimal amen breaks, vocal stand and rave funk balanced by clinical production.

Definitely a well crafted serving on the Unchained Recordings 2021 menu!
