NEVE set to drop his ‘Flowrida’ EP on Unchained

Share

It gives Unchained Recordings great pleasure to welcome one of their very good friends, NEVE, back to the growing imprint! This year has been incredible for Unchained as they become a force to be reckoned with. Consistently releasing banging music has seen them reach dizzying new heights, and rightly so!

NEVE aka Andrea Recla is a DJ, producer and sound engineer born and raised in Rovereto, in the Italian region of Trentino Alto Adige. He’s been surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. NEVE started playing the guitar for local bands at 15 but it wasn’t long until he fell in love with Drum & Bass. In the last 15 years or so he’s performed in many clubs, festivals and parties in Italy and further afield. In 2016, he created The Dreamers Recordings. Providing high-quality groundbreaking music and supporting Italian newcomer producers was, and still is, the goal of the label, which immediately received the appreciation of international top DJs.

NEVE expresses more of his own well-crafted brand of concrete funk, militant breaks and modern sound sculpture with his latest release on Unchained. At times the ‘Flowrida’ EP verges on the edge of that classic old school feel, harking back to imprints such a Reinforced or Bingo. Yet, at other times, it takes a journeyed walk across various branches of the electronic music tree. Unambiguously dancefloor, the EP spans halftime, mid-tempo breakbeat (with his collaboration with Samurai Breaks), and two tracks of unapologetically raw Drum and Bass.

“I just feel the vibe. If I want to make a hardcore thing, it’s okay. If I want to do deep, it’s okay. I try and include elements of UKG, house, reggae dub things I love. I’m just trying to find a balance of mixing together all the styles.” – Neve

For our premiere today we present you with ‘Jinga’ which sees NEVE collaborate with Frame. Luring you with soft tones, this quickly builds into an unadulterated banger. This is a fast-paced, high energy, dancefloor destroyer…without a shadow of a doubt! I can picture Andy C or A.M.C playing it in their energetic sets, it has that kind of vibe to it!

This is a really strong four-track release. ‘Flowrida’ has something for both the flourishing return to rave community and the young Junglist alike.
