Sonar 2014 announces the latest additions

Sonar Barcelona in June from 12th-14th has added more than 40 new names to complete its line-up. Among them are German composer Nils Frahm; the Scandinavian pop’s rising star MØ; a DJ set from James Holden and Daphni (Caribou’s alter ego) and ‘Whorl’, the new project by Simian Mobile Disco. Also they’ve added a selection of the great Spanish artists to give a good representation of today’s excellent Spanish scene with the following list of acts including: Nev.Era., Pina, DJ2D2, Mwëslee, Territoire, Sunny Graves, Kresy, Glue Kids, BSN Posse, 3QUINOX, Mr. K!, and Enpunto, among many others…     Also excitingly, Red Bull Music Academy releases its complete line-up for the SonarDôme stage with Buraka Som Sistema, Chris & Cosey, Tokimonsta, Debruit & Alsarah and Octo Octa.   On Thursday June 12th Sonar by Day will run until 11:00 pm for the first time featuring the first European performance of Plastikman’s developing ‘Objekt’ live concept in which he will premiere his new compositions.     Sonar collaborates for the first time with Barcelona’s Mercat de les Flors (the city’s central reference for contemporary dance and performing arts) with a dance piece from Sonia Gomez and Lucy Suggate to the music of “The Inheritors” by James Holden, who will be acting on stage.
