Golden Pudel Suffers Damage From Early Morning Fire

In a year that’s already been packed to the rafters with untimely demises – both of iconic stars and venues – the DT office had been praying that much loved Hamburg nightspot Golden Pudel didn’t similarly go the way of the dodo due to the ongoing legal battle between the building’s owners, Rocko Schamoni and Wolf Richter.

Well, now the worst has happened. In the early hours of this February 15th, the club caught fire, with the incident being treated as likely arson by investigators. Police reports suggest around 150 people were inside the club when the blaze started, beginning at an extension between the venue and a footbridge before spreading to the roof. Fortunately everyone appears to have escaped uninjured but the fire does raise further questions regarding the club going forward with it’s future now seeming more uncertain than ever.
