When it comes to techno, there are few who are as accomplished as veteran Dave Sumner aka Function. With a career spanning over 15 years, there have been many successful endeavours for the techno don under a variety of aliases.
Now following on from last year’s ‘Recompiled: Various Works & Pseudonyms 1995-2012’ which took a look back at his work under a number of guises Function will be showcasing the work of other artists with an eye on the future as he mixes Berlin techno Mecca Berghain’s seventh mix album.
Slated to arrive May 18 as a free download (instead of the traditional CD) we have high hopes for Mr. Summer’s mix with Ryan Elliot’s Berghain 06 contribution last year quickly becoming one of our favourite mixes of the year. Sometimes the best things in life genuinely are free.
