Whychek drops ‘Spectate’ EP on Rebel Music

Whychek is back on Rebel Music with another beautifully crafted EP entitled ‘Spectate’, which shows all the signs of his signature sound. The past few years have seen a slew of releases which have garnered exponential support from prominent industry taste-makers. His music has gained support from artists such as Andy C, Logistics, Makoto, Taelimb, Conscience, HLZ, Sweetpea and Fade Black and has contributed features to BBC Radio One, Reprezent Radio, Drum&BassArena and SkankandBass.

With classical training to grade 8 level in both Piano and Drums and ten years of touring as a professional drummer in his arsenal, he has an eclectic and extensive musical taste, reflected in his varied and evolving sound. Whychek is definitely one to get your eyes and ears on.

Back to this release which delves into the deep, brooding, liquid tones he has become synonymous with and yet still gives us something darker for the dance floor.

The release starts off with the title track ‘Spectate’ which takes you on a rolling, textured journey, tinged with pianos and stunning, subtle pads. ‘Don’t Let It’ sees Whychek link up with good friend Krypta for the darkest of the four tracks. A head down, bass and breaks workout is perfect for the rave. Teaming up with fellow Rebel Nu-Lo, ‘Abulia’ takes us into the summer nights with its melancholic tones, magnetic sub bass and perfectly etched beats. Closing up the project, the London-based producer invites vocalist Johnny Boyage to join him on the keys-laden dream that is ‘Darker Light’.

Today we premiere ‘Spectate’ which you can check out below. The EP lands on Beatport on 19th August, make sure you grab a copy for your collection from here!
