Renegade Riddims: Sub:liminal

Romanian born Alex Cobe or Sub:liminal as he’s more widely known, is a Drum & Bass DJ and Producer originating from Oradea. His passion for music started at a very young age by learning to play the guitar where he developed a passion for Drum & Bass music somewhere around 2008. He started releasing music in the early 2020s and he got signed on labels like Fokuz Recordings, Pilot Records, Four Corners Music and Liquid Series gaining wide support from artists like High Contrast, Chris.SU, Doc Scott, Muffler, Dexcell, DJ Aphrodite, Philth, Melinki, Random Movement, Dave Owen, Bredren, LTJ Bukem, Phil Tangent and Sweetpea just to name a few.

Sub:liminal started the year with new releases on Fokuz Recordings and with collaborations with Alpha Rhythm and Sydney and is already out on Alpha Rhythm’s ‘Within Eternity’ EP followed by his new EP entitled ‘Late Nights’. He recently released 2 tracks with SOLR on the beautiful ‘Night Drive’ compilation on Galacy Records. ‘Horizon’ is a forthcoming single from Sub:liminal on Headsbass Vol. 9 which can be found in the Renegade Riddims guest mix he has done for us. There are a few more singles in the pipeline so keep your eyes peeled for more music coming soon from Sub:liminal!

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

It’s hard to pick a favourite track from it because I can say there’s so much good music coming out right now. If there’s a track that really comes to my mind when I listen to this mix is Phaction’s remix on my collab with HumaNature ‘Around The World’ – keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Tell us about your next EP?

I have some new music in the works and I hope I will be able to finish it soon and see what comes next.

When was the last time you actually raved?

On March 18th, I organised the first event after literally two years. What can I say? It was mad!
