Precise drops his ‘Trauma’ EP on Locked Up Music

Share

Locked Up Music are set to release Precise’s debut EP ‘Trauma’. Precise’s track ‘Control’ has been taken from their Inmates project. This received play from a whole host of DnB dons including Ash-A-Tack, Dark Ops, OB1, Madcap, LJ High and Ray Keith.

Precise may be a new name to many but his journey dates back to the early days of this wonderful scene. His journey began in 1998 when he started going to raves in Birmingham and Notts, inspired by nights such as Planet V, One Nation, Flashback, Detonate and many more.

This lead him to buy his first set of decks where he learned his craft back in 2001. This wasn’t enough for him and like so many others before him Precise learned music production in 2005 and you can clearly hear these early influences in his tracks today.

‘Traum’a is a monster that builds and builds with amen fills, stabs and outstanding percussion. Precise is not afraid to push the boundaries of sound design, something we love about him as an artist. ‘Translation Theory’ is a roller of the highest order. The long intro serves as the ultimate tease to what is a devastating first drop but he isn’t finished there. Precise’s arrangement is first class and this track demonstrates that art effortlessly. Our premier ‘Selector’ is a straight up amen tear out with all of the nostalgia you would expect but with top rate production and modern twists. Closing out the EP is ‘Funk Logic’ which explores yet another facet of Precise’s production armoury. It has light and dark notes throughout and it’s drenched in funk to make it a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Precise has had success with some key labels in the scene over the past few years including; Chronic, Audiomaze, Physmatics, and now Locked Up Music.

Check out ‘Selector’ below. The ‘Trauma’ EP drops as a Juno Download exclusive on 26th October and everywhere else on 2nd November. Make sure you grab a copy from here
