Section drops ‘What You Find / Derelict’ on Locked Up Music

Locked Up Music‘s head honcho, Section, is back with his label, dropping two tracks ‘What You Find’ and ‘Derelict’ which delve into the deeper, harder side of his versatile productions.

Since 2013, Section has been putting out music on various scene labels like Skeleton, Rebel Music, Dread, Serial Killaz, Counterpoint, and No Reality. Besides running the label and making music, Section also DJs regularly and organizes two of his own events—one at Planet Wax in New Cross and another in his hometown of Worthing, Sussex. These nights spotlight local talent, giving young DJs, who often haven’t had much exposure, a chance to play. Section runs the Worthing night with Ben Rolo, with the next event set for June 22nd at The Cellar Arts Club.

Section’s solo track, ‘What You Find’, was one of the first pieces he wrote after dropping his debut album, ‘The Fourth Hour’, on Counterpoint Recordings. ‘What You Find’ kicks off with an epic intro that ramps up the tension before a heavy drop, maintaining a sinister, eerie vibe with drum edits and distorted stabs.

The second track features Surface, a talented producer from London. Surface has been crafting beats for a decade, releasing music on Repertoire, Lossless (Dope Plates), Hardpoint, Structured Music, 16 Step, and Bare Bones. Their track ‘Derelict’ is a dystopian, industrial stepper with a hypnotic bassline and tough drums, continuously building with percussive switches and acid sounds.
