Phase Records drops ‘Perspective’ VA EP

After sell-out raves across the UK and chart-topping free downloads on Soundcloud, the time has finally come for Phase Records to release official EPs on different platforms and stores. They are kicking things off with their ‘Perspective’ Various Artists EP.

Why the name Perspective? The label aims to explore the darker sides of Drum & Bass through a variety of its subgenres through the lens of different artists. Essentially, this VA is each artist’s take and perspective of what dark Drum & Bass can sound like and the feelings and emotions evoked through it. From the simplicity and cleverness of minimalism to dirty hybrids of dark dance floor and rollers, this EP is our first statement of what we will be bringing to the table.

The EP features established artists like Dunk, (one half of legendary Drum & Bass duo Jam Thieves) up-and-comers R3IDY and Kalane who have already featured on huge labels such as Rebel Music, DNB Allstars and Trust Audio. New Zealand dynamite team Inertia and Phase Records homegrown talent Artillery, Premonition, Seven and Gifta.

The tracks have already gained huge amounts of support. Including ‘Rush’ by Seven & Gifta being played on Kiss FM and showcased at Tomorrowland music festival this summer. Additionally, all tracks have been making the rounds on the Drum & Bass club scene, including at Meraki in Liverpool and Ministry of Sound in London and various clubs in New Zealand. They have also been lucky enough to have the tunes played on Kool London FM, which is the oldest Drum & Bass radio station and have seen the tracks also featured in guest mixes.

Artists who have downloaded the tracks and supported the release include the legendary Noisia, Kaz, Able, Enta and Teej. And ‘Error Code 3000’ by R3IDY featured in Teej’s mix for Trust Audio as well as the Incurzion Audio podcast. ‘Rush’ by Seven & Gifta was also played at the Big Jersey Weekender festival.

Today we premiere ‘Rush’ by Seven & Gifta which you can check out below. The ‘Perspective’ EP drops tomorrow (Friday 30th September) and is available for you to get your hands on from here!
