NC-17 drops ‘Cache’ and ‘Rules of Hell’ on Dispatch Blueprints series

Share

The next edition of the Dispatch Blueprints series comes from NC-17 and Kumarachi. Inspired by the original breakbeats and drum sampling production techniques, NC-17 continues the Blueprints ethos with two spectacular tracks ‘Cache’ and ‘Rules of Hell’ that celebrate the old skool Drum & Bass flavours.

Whilst working on the latest edition of NC-17’s ongoing album series ‘Most Violent Year’ Dispatch received the two tracks that make up this release and they all agreed that they would find the perfect home on the Blueprints imprint.

‘Cache’ is a drum-heavy collaboration with Kumarachi that makes perfect use of rasping bass synths, razor-sharp drum edits and well-timed vocal samples, channelling the energy of a Blue Note era banger.

‘Rules of Hell’ is pure NC-17 magic – a dark, broody, cinematic journey through the depths of drum and bass grit. Tuned to make whole dancefloors shake, this one is a real monster. Watch out for that bassline!

NC-17 has been DJing for around 20 years now and started to produce music in 2005. With releases on Viper Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Mainframe, All Sorts, DSCI4, MAC II, SOM Music, Proximity, and many more, he formed his own label, Grindhou5e Audio in 2012. While the imprint was still in its infancy, it almost immediately featured tracks from the likes of State Of Mind, The Upbeats, Mr Explicit, and Smooth.

The new-school sound of Kumarachi is one that fans of that old-school jungle vibe have been digging on for a while. With heavyweight releases on imprints like DJ Hybrid’s Audio Addict and Deep in the Jungle, the surfacing of the underground sound of Kumarachi on none other than Kasra’s forward-thinking Critical Music imprint at the end of 2017, which was a welcome surprise.

Today we premiere ‘Cache’ which sees NC-17 collab with Kumarachi and you can check out below. The release drops on Dispatch Blueprints exclusively on Bandcamp on 1st October, it will be available everywhere else from 8th October. Make sure you grab the tracks from the purchase buttons beneath the Soundcloud player!
