We can think of few albums that have managed generate as much hype as Actress’ ‘Ghettoville’ without a huge and expensively assembled PR machine rolling behind it. But then again Actress isn’t exactly like most other artists with the enigmatic producer ostensibly shunning the limelight and preferring to let his music do the talking.
‘Ghettoville’ represents Actress fourth full studio effort and ramped up the excitement levels amongst fans when his label confirmed that it would be his final release as Actress whilst teasing out details over the past few months. Slated for release on January 27, Werkdiscs have now also revealed that they will be putting out a special deluxe edition complete. This special incarnation will comes as a “black-elephant” –skinned boxset designed by William Stein and will feature the album as both a 3xLP and CD.
The news follows on Actress treating us to some fresh content this Christmas with the release of a new limited edition 12” via his Werkdiscs imprint and fans especially eager to see what the new box set looks like can click here to visit a full gallery of shots or here to preorder the album.
