Stream: William Kouam Djoko – DeFlourished EP
Over the past few years, William Kouam Djoko has emerged as one of Holland’s many great emerging underground hopes. A resident of the famous Trouw (a club that’s due to close in 2014) in his adopted city of Amsterdam, his is a talent that veers between house and techno, whilst always maintaining a quality-soaked driving edge. We caught up with him recently to talk about Ibiza, his all singing, all dancing new live set and his plans for the upcoming Valhalla Festival in a feature which can be read here but today we’re pleased to be able to share his new EP with you.
Entitled Deflourished and released on the seminal dutch imprint Rush Hour Records the new EP documents an epiphany William had wilst on the dancefloor enjoying the sounds of Chicago Footwork specialists DJ Rashad & DJ Spinn. William claims that it was then that “all the experiences, emotions and soul searching from the previous year came together in one emotional, energetic moment” and it was this he trying to capture in his studio the next day. Well we don’t know about that but we do know good music when we hear it and this certainly falls into that category. We hope to see you on the dancefloor soon William!
