James Holden Shares New Video

It’s been a long 7 years since James Holden released his astonishing debut album ‘The Idiots Are Winning’ and fans of the academic Border Community boss have been left waiting hungrily  for a full length follow up ever since. Thus it is with great excitement that we can share with you the video for his new track  ‘Renata‘  today ahead of the release of The Inheritors’ on June 17. 

In the past 7 years  the influence of Holden has grown massively, particularly within the UK electronic landscape wherein James has firmly embedded himself as one of our proudest exports both as a producer, DJ and label boss as he helms the now revered Border Community imprint. Helping launch some of the UK’s most prodigious talent including Nathan Fake and Luke Abbott his label has left an indelible mark on electronic music and such is why the confirmation of a second full length effort by James has caused such commotion amongst those in the electronic scene. His own releases are scarce, as are his output as a remix producer as remix roll call over the past six years whilst short is telling with illustrious names such as Radiohead and Caribou being reworked by the Border Community boss.

Always a singular character with a tangential ear for sound and a deep appreciation of the importance of the art within music beyond its sonic qualities Holden has woven a rich aural tapestry leading to the production of electronic music as explorative as anyone is making today.
