Debut Transmission: Monte – Radical
As you may have guessed by our extensive coverage of all things Jeudi, we’re quite the fans of Doctor Dru’s imprint here at Data Transmission, with the outlet quickly becoming one of favourite labels in recent times. For the Hamburg outpost’s latest trick, they welcome back Monte, who – you might well recall – impressed upon on the label with a number of releases that arrived to to great fanfare last year and thanks to the glorious sounds of the ‘Radical’ EP, we’re delighted to announce that the man behind the music has lost none of his nous in the intervening time.
The action gets underway thanks to title track and our choice for premiere, ‘Radical’, a rollicking rollercoaster of a track aimed squarely at peak time dance floors which motors along to give clubbers something to really sink their teeth into. Slickly driven synth lines underpin a sparse yet menacing vocal line full of promise, with the track heaving along as it flexes its production prowess for a cut sure to be finding its way into the sets of house music’s more discerning selectors upon release. Backed by a remix from Man Power and frenetic B-side ‘Simpler’, which – jam packed with off kilter energy – is similarly sure to pick up plenty of attention during the small hours in the coming months and add a spine-tingling sense of drama to any set it pervades.
Set to arrive November 2nd, you can stream ‘Radical’ in full below.
