Mix of the Day: BAILE

Reed Kackley, the Brooklyn-based producer aka BAILE, makes texturally rich dance music inspired by house and downtempo.

His EP, ‘Matter’, released last July, combined minimal electronic compositions with lush vocal performances by featured artists like Felicia Douglass (Ava Luna, Gemma) & Marie Kim (Blank Paper). In addition to receiving airplay by Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1), two singles from the EP landed in the top 5 of Hype Machine’s ‘Most Popular’ chart. Kackley has also recently remixed artists like Baio, Mansionair & Doe Paoro. More recently his recent Debut Transmission for his track ‘Spill’ was a big on the DT Tower soundsystem.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
