WDDS drops ‘Microdosing’ EP on Hectare Discs
Jonny Woods aka WDDS returns to his own imprint Hectare Discs with his ‘Microdosing’ EP. A small batch of cuts that embodies lo-fi broken beats with the producer’s more atmospheric palette of sounds.
Formally a resident house/techno DJ at Brighton’s Concorde2, WDDS has taken on a new path focusing on creating atmospheric jungle, drawing influence from the likes of LTJ Bukem, Spirit, Photek and Marcus Intalex and many others. The Manchester-based producer decided on taking an alternative route to contemporary DJing and performs his productions live using a mixture of samplers, synths and effects.
WDDS also hosts a monthly show on Bristol’s 1020 Radio which explores the realms of bass music and breakbeat from all over the world.
For this latest release, WDDS has drawn on his love of jazz blending Rhodes piano with scattering jungle breaks and sub-heavy bass. These tracks were made for the after-hours on the dance floor, you know those lush 4am vibes!
Today we premiere ‘Sunset At Priaia’ which you can check out below. The ‘Miscrodosing’ EP lands on Friday 29th April. For Bandcamp users, a bonus track entitled ‘June25’ will be available to them exclusively. Make sure you grab yourself a copy from here!
