Conrad Subs returns to Dirtbox Recordings with the 5th EP in their ‘Rock N Rollerz’ series

Conrad Subs makes a welcome return to Dirtbox Recordings with his first full-length EP on the label, and it’s a perfect fit for their ever-growing ‘Rock N Rollerz’ series. Known for his razor-sharp production and ability to balance deep vibes with heavyweight impact, Conrad’s been a go-to name in Drum & Bass for years now.

He’s had music out on some of the most respected imprints in the scene such as Metalheadz, Hospital, RAM, Symmetry, 31 Records, Liquid V, Dread, Formation and loads more, and he’s racked up millions of plays along the way. It’s fair to say his sound speaks for itself, and his work rate hasn’t slowed down one bit.

After dropping ‘Only Want’ and ‘Leave Them Behind’ on the ‘Vibe City Vol. 3’ compilation in 2024, Dirtbox were keen to bring him back properly. This EP delivers exactly what fans expect from Conrad Subs—serious rollers with character, soul and plenty of weight. It’s a strong statement of intent and hopefully the start of more releases to come from him on the label.

Here’s what’s inside:

Opening the EP with a bang, ‘Fatboi’ brings Conrad’s trademark percussive energy. The cheeky “Alright fatboy” vocal gives it instant charm, before a gritty bassline takes over and keeps things moving. Smart key changes and stripped-back drums make it both fun and functional…classic Conrad vibes.

Following on, ‘Get Down’ is a nod to the Dread Recordings era, but with an upfront, modern edge. The rolling bass and punchy drums hit hard, giving it all the ingredients of a proper dancefloor weapon. It’s one of the biggest tracks on the release and shows just how well Conrad balances nostalgia with freshness.

Next up ‘Following Dusk’ is a deeper cut, sitting somewhere between liquid and minimal tech. Lush pads and airy vocals set the mood, while the low-end brings real weight. It’s a tune full of contrast, light and dark, smooth and heavy, and showcases his ability to create atmosphere without losing impact.

Originally featured on ‘Vibe City Vol. 3’, ‘Only Want’ returns here and still hits just as hard. It’s a proper liquid roller, emotive melodies, clean drums and a bassline that does just enough to keep things grounded. Built for hands-in-the-air moments but with plenty of depth for repeat listens.

Rounding things off is another Vibe City favourite. ‘Leave Them Behind’ brings warmth, soul and groove in equal measure. The uplifting melodies, rolling percussion and emotional undertones make it a perfect closer—and a reminder of just how versatile Conrad’s sound really is.

All in all, it’s a solid showcase from one of the most consistent producers in the game. Dirtbox are buzzing to have him back, and if this release is anything to go by, it won’t be the last time he links up with the label.
