Bungle returns to Influence Records with ‘Burning’ EP

Share

As we were to celebrate the UK coming out of lockdown and clubs re-opening, (obviously put on the back-burner for another month) but Aaron Jay had decided to put out 4 releases this June and he’s sticking to his word. The first is Bungle’s hotly-anticipated ‘Burning’ EP.

Bungle needs no introduction as his Drum & Bass presence has been felt on the scene for over 15 years.  A producer that is at the top of his game with releases on some of the scene’s biggest labels including 31 Records, Soul:r, Hospital, Spearhead, CIA and Influence to name a few.  Bungle returns to Influence with a four track ep that is full of deep, Detroit and dub inspiration…enjoy!

Bungle’s ‘Burning’ EP harks back to the good old vibes of Soul:r, and Bungle has knocked it out of the park with four, super fresh progressive tracks, all designed for the dancefloor.

Opening up the EP is ‘Black Mirror’. The intro is dark, moody, old school Detroit stabs bring in a haunting flavour. The reece bass brings in a heavy hook before two-step beats pound and rip through the mix. Heavy tune!

Next up is ‘Burning’. Born out of a conversation with Aaron about blending Detroit Techno with Dub, the result is the title track. Church organs, dubby fx and a catchy hip-hop piano add character to this beautiful tune. The beats with a nod to the late 90’s sound bounce giving space for a perfectly fitted pitched down break to add pass. Pure class!

Following on is our premiere ‘Circles’. The most progressive of the bunch, ‘Circles’ is electro-funk at its best. Taking more influence from Detroit Techno and Dub, the tune rolls through the groove, whilst a hypnotic string phases in and out providing a large landscape of sound that washes over you. Get ready to lose yourself in this one.

Closing out the EP is ‘Converged’. A standout track on the EP and one for true Headz. This nearly was the title track, but Influence felt they’d leave it to be the hidden gem in the EP. No words just listen…

Check out our premiere of ‘Circles’ below. The ‘Burning’ EP drops on 25th June and will be available for you to get your hands on soon just click the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
