AFT Records set to drop ‘Next Wave 4’ Various Artists EP

Here it is, the highly anticipated 4th volume of ‘Next Wave’, the jewel in AFT Records‘ crown. This is the label’s benchmark release year after year, the compilation that puts a shine on the entire roster, breaks new talent every time and garners support from DJs all around the globe. Previous editions have seen numerous Radio 1 spins, major label licenses and an obscene amount of rewinds.

So lets go, surfs up! Let’s ride the wave again!

Haxby makes a welcome return to the label with an absolute monster in the shape of ‘Blenheim’. His last appearance was on ‘Next Wave 3’ where his anthem ‘Critical State’ was hammered in Danny Byrd’s sets for the best part of a year. This one is just as angry, charging drum breaks reminiscent of vintage Swift take reign here, industrial, surging and so powerful. Take cover!

Oz has been on a roll of late with his well-received album on Co-Lab garnering critical acclaim. He returns to the Tree with ‘Octopussy’, a haunting vocal sample is matched with a call and response style bassline that is built to destroy dance floors.

Lo! Has been riding high since his EP ‘Chemicals’ dropped earlier this year, ‘Timeout Dred’ picks up where that left off, hard choppage, rolling drums, body parts and limbs flying – this is a war riddim.

Tuskan’s ‘Gully Creeper’ has been much sought after since a clip of MC Bassman riding over it went viral. Floating basslines traverse powerful drums. If 2021 is all about the wobble, this is an A-class example.

Next up Khemikal saddles his Jet Ski and doesn’t just ride the wave, he backflips. ‘Migraine’ is a full-on attack to the senses, not a track you could listen to on repeat but jeez the reaction this gets when dropped is nuts…Instant reload!

Dubbz has been working super hard stacking up tracks in the lockdown. ‘Emphasis’ really shows how his production has grown and provides a strong precursor to his debut EP dropping soon after this. Hard-hitting, squelching bass is served up here!
