Lex & Wood announce their new label Creatures of Habit

Montreal boys Alessandro and Benjamin AKA Lex & Wood are a rising duo with a raucous deep tech sound. The Canadians are going from strength to strength, seizing the underground spotlight with their scintillating blend of lush hats, heavy-duty drums and deft melodic touches. The rising producers have already featured on the likes of Armada Subjekt, Desert Hearts, Farris Wheel, Material Series, New Violence, Rawsome, Roush, Toolroom and Stashed Music.

Today, they announce the launch of their new label Creatures of Habit. They say about it “Relentlessly exploring new sounds, rhythms, and the track builds, we believe in having our own channel for distributing the music that we create and love. Creatures of Habit is our homegrown label, launched as a means to build a brand around the music we publish and foster a community of enthusiasts who share similar tastes!”

The first EP on the label is the ‘Ruthless’ EP from Lex & Wood. The EP showcases two different style tracks and is a showcase of their signature flow. It has energetic vox hits and phrases, sitting on bouncy drum patterns. Our premiere ‘In The Cut’ is a heavy-hitting tech jam. It has steady energy in the drops, punctuated by croaky vocals to let the room breathe before going at it again once the bass hits.

Check out ‘In The Cut’ below and grab it here.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
