Madface tells us 10 of the best Czech D&B producers

Madface aka Patrik Nastasi is a dancefloor Drum & Bass producer influenced by industrial Ostrava where he is one of the favourite Drum & Bass residents. His sympathetic journey all the way to the Viper Recordings roster was honest and his first appearance was on the 2018 ‘Viper x Bassrush 3.0 Various Artists’ compilation with the track ‘Jungle’. Then again with a few tracks on compilations like ‘Acts Of Madman Vol. II’ and ‘Bassrush 4.0’.

Now he’s officially under the Viper roof and he has already proven he’s got what it takes to be the next big thing in Drum & Bass with the singles ‘Thinking To Myself’ feat. Isaac Evans, ‘Claptrap’, ‘Call On You’ feat. V O E , and most recently ‘Escape’, all capturing the attention of peers and fans alike. Now, starting the new year off on a high note, Madface’s latest single ‘Paralyzed’ is set to be another favourite in his growing catalogue of dancefloor anthems, make sure you grab a copy from here!

We caught up with Madface to get the low down on some on the best Drum & Bass producers coming out of his home country of the Czech Republic.

Acray is a good, very funny guy and great producer as well, it’s always great to meet him at a party. His father is a musician, so I think that he has the talent after his father. His track ‘Stomper’ is still on my playlist and I still love it.

Pavel is a positive person. His famous track is definitely ‘Let It Roll’ that he worked on with Counterstrike. It was part of the opening show at Let It Roll festival. I love his sound. Rido released an EP on Goldie‘s label Metalheadz and I think that it was the beginning of his career as an international artist.

I did 2 tracks with this guy, and I really enjoyed it. It was really quick work, so we will make more tunes together for sure. Erik is a really talented producer and makes Neurofunk Drum & Bass, but he also likes more melodic music, that’s why we are working together now.

Ripple are a new Czech duo and I have to say that the progress they made in the last 2 years is huge. I love their music! They have just released their debut album called ‘Effect’. If you like deep and dancefloor Drum & Bass, then you will like the album.

Meph is a talented music producer and also label Co-founder of Sinful Maze. He had several great releases lately…all of them are free to download and well done. I like his technical Drum & Bass. He is focusing on every detail in each track.

Another great guy. He used to make harder music, but now he makes more deep Drum & Bass and I really like it. He also owns a record label called Forbidden Society. On the label sing tracks with producers like Emperor, Agressor Bunx and many more.

Holotrope is a very talented guy. He has been making music since 2016 and his first single came in 2018 on Czech record label Hoofbeats Music. A few years later Holotrope released a single on Bad Taste Recordings and in the same year won Czech Drum & Bass Awards as a ‘Newcomer’.

Magenta used to play guitar/bass in bands and jazz groups at jazz jams. With his music passion and experience, Magenta is making a lot of different music as well as Drum & Bass. Such as instrumentals for MCs (mostly in Czech Republic), he has also released an EP with Czech well known MC – Pain.

QO‘s sound is defined somewhere between Techstep and Neurofunk. I’m never bored when I’m listening to his tracks. He used to release tracks on Eatbrain, but now he has his own record label that is called Hoofbeats Music.

This is a new name on Czech Drum & Bass scene. He is a talented producer and a very good DJ. Zigi has been playing since 2017 when he found project Scarecrows with his friend. His sets and mixes are full of dark and fast Neurofunk. As a listener, he loves every sub-genre of Drum & Bass.
