JUNGA joins the Spotlight Mix series

Down in the notoriously quiet countryside of the South West (UK), a noise is beginning to rumble. A wave of House & Techno enthusiasts are starting to once again form. Resonating the early rave days of the 90’s that were so popular in the area. One culprit goes by the name of JUNGA.

Having grown up in London & then moving down to Devon in his teens. He soon found that the slower-paced lifestyle of the green fields and the sleepy villages weren’t quite what he was hoping for. Luckily, JUNGA had somehow found a group of friends who were incredibly music orientated & after a euphoric experience at Hideout in 2012, he realised exactly where he wanted to pursue his journey. He started DJ’ing in his local city of Exeter & a few sets later, he had already become a resident of the biggest House & Techno event in Devon, Hold it Down. This inspired him to reach for bigger goals & ended up winning BPM’s DJ of the week, month & year in 2015. Soon realising that DJ’ing alone couldn’t fulfil his passion for music, in 2017 he started his own event called DIVIDE & also began learning to produce. DIVIDE has now become one of the biggest House & Techno events in the South West, having hosted stages at We Are FSTVL, Budafest & Inside Out, taking over rooms of infamous venues such as EGG LDN & Ministry of Sound & now finding a home in the Bristol.

Continuing to build a name for himself whilst playing events not only up & down the UK but internationally as well. His drive for music flourished when he was selected by the all-mighty Hannah Wants, to join her on her PLAY UK tour in 2018. In that same year, he’d also moved to Ibiza for the summer, to surround himself with like-minded people & further improve his DJ’ing ability in the musical hub.

Fast forward to the present & JUNGA is a firmly established artist with a track already featured on BBC’s Music Introducing. He has many tracks laying in wait, ready to be unleashed onto the world. Being so obsessive about music, he has patiently waited until his productions are at a level that he thinks are worthy of sitting alongside the artists that he so much admires. Known for his knack to mix infectiously groovy tunes with huge, dark & deep techy beats & not being shy to drop some Techno, his productions are a treat that many are keen to hear.

Today, he joins us on the Spotlight Mix series, with an hour of Tech house music. Check it out below and grab it here.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
