Parisian house music has a long and illustrious past with the French capital continuing to be a hotbed of electronic music to this day. One of the new school of the French house scene who we’ve long had our eye on is a charismatic young producer who goes by the name of The Mekanism and looks set to continue adding to the rich musical history of Paris for the foreseeable future. In a very short period of time the young French producer has created an international following well received releases on Needwant and Exploited.
With The Mekanism’s modern house sound moving dance floors across the globe within his busy DJing schedule touching down in just about every continent including a monthly residency at the Social Club in his home city his work has caught the eye of a certain Seth Troxler, who has snagged his talents for his Play It, Say It imprint.
Titled Acid Love / Lost Girl, the two track 12-inch, serves up more impressive fare with the opener’s retrofitted vocals, underpinned by acid flecked, basslines for a cut sure to be will no doubt be soundtracking the sunshine as the summer draws to a close. Lost Girl then picks up the baton, driven by a spoken word sample and chunky bassline for a phantasmagoric effort, full of character that belies the producers tender years.
It’s been a good year for Troxler’s Play It, Say It in terms of output and their latest outing is no different with both cuts on offer here sure to be a welcome addition to any DJs collection.
