DT610 – George Kwali

George Kwali is that kid at the party, always taking over the stereo: a musical magpie with an ear for getting people moving. His latest single, ‘Dream Enough’ featuring one of the UK’s leading singer-songwriters, Gabrielle Aplin, combines the DJ-cum-producer’s teenage love of dubstep, trap and grime with the all-night sensibilities of house legends such as MK and Duke Dumont. It has one foot in clubland and the other in firmly in mainstream success.

The first we heard of this duel thinking was the club filling ‘Crank It (Woah!)’, produced in collaboration with friend and fellow Brightonian, Kideko and featuring West Croydon MC Nadia Rose on vocals. Follow up ‘When It Breaks’ was an immediate, infectious cut which was built for radio, thanks to an anthemic Lonestate vocal. With these releases and ‘Dream Enough’ set to be another big hit, George Kwali is a definite one to watch as crossover success beckons in 2018.
