NUDE59: Space 92

The mind behind 2020’s best-selling Beatport Techno track of the Year, Space 92 is a chart-topping French producer played by the greatest.

Space 92 discovered electronic music as a teenager and soon after began composing and producing. His sound identity is a mix of trancey Techno, distorted percussion and a touch of Acid, in addition to underlying sensitivity and nostalgia – perhaps influenced by his passion for vintage 80s Sci-Fi.

In March 2020 his remix for Hungarian duo Twins Project, “Bass in your Face”, was an instant hit directly entering BP’s Top 10. Other releases followed, such as notably “Dune” on Umek’s label 1605 and a collaboration with French Techno duo Cosmic Boys. In August 2020, Space 92 & YellowHeads released what would be the year 2020’s biggest Techno hit: “Planet X”, which sat four consecutive months at Number 1 and is still, 6 months after, currently in the Beatport Top 10.

2021 will see many new releases on major labels as well as collaborations & remixes with/for global electronic music artists. This includes his current release on Filth on Acid, titled ‘Atlas’ which you can hear above and can grab on Beatport here.

Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Without Suprise it’s ‘Atlas’, not because it’s my track but only because it’s giving the right energy that I need in my mix, this one brings the right vibe at the right time.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Making something very groovy but also aggressive.

Tell us about your current EP?
‘Atlas’ is my most current 3 track EP which recently got released on Filth on Acid, all the tracks are really pumping techno vibes. The title-track ‘Atlas’ has a trancy techno vibe with an oldschool melody designed to get stuck in your mind. ‘Drone’ and ‘River Of Darkness’ are in the same vein but add different feelings and mood to the EP.

What have you got coming up?
I have an upcoming remix on 12th march for the respected French producer and friend of mine Popof, I’m really looking for this one. Then, I have also my second EP on filth on acid in May.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Just, thanks a lot for all the support I get every day from you my friends.
