Houndstooth. Once a term that conjured images of a canines canine or the fetching pattern that may adorn a coat worn by Sherlock Holmes is now firmly entrenched in our heads as the name of one our favourite record labels. Established by the London’s esteemed fabric nightclub the latest news to come of the imprint is that similarly London based producer Ross Tones aka Throwing Snow announces his new single ‘Avarice’.

Set for release December 1 the caps a memorable couple of years for the producer with this release following on from Tones graduation from the Red Bull Music Academy and experimental releases on his own Snowfall and Left Blank imprints before wowing us last spring with his Pathfinder EP on Houndstooth. Backed by remixes by Py and Will Saul & Komon the latter featuring vocals from Kid A – who fans may remember we tipped for big things in our new talent section – the release also features “hard-hitting” VIP versions of ‘Avarice’ and ‘As You Fall’ for what looks to be a formidable package of cuts.

Check out the VIP of the release’s title track ‘Avarice’ below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
