There just seems to be no stopping the thunderous momentum being built up by German label Kompakt Records at the moment with a string of big releases such as Kolsch’s ‘1977’ and The Field’s ‘Cupid’s Head’ signaling a purple patch of late for the imprint as they celebrate their 20th year anniversary. Now in a further exciting album news, long term member of the Kompakt stable Justus Köhncke has shared his new album on the label ‘Justus Köhncke & The Wonderful Frequency Band’ as a full stream.

It’s been five years since he released his debut album ‘Safe and Sound’ in 2008  and Justus Köhncke & The Wonderful Frequency Band’ is despite its name a solo rather than group project with  the only collaboration on the work a guest appearance from Mouse On Mars member Andi Toma on the title track.   So with the winter season looking to rival the summer in regards to album releases with a slew of hotly anticipated full length efforts set to drop before Christmas those end of year polls look set to be more competitive than ever when we look back on 2013.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
