Two words got us very excited last month: Deep Dish. No we’re not talking about our favorite type of pizza although we do enjoy a slice of Chicago style cheese and tomato goodness from time to time. No we are of course referring to the seemingly imminent return of pioneering house duo Deep Dish, comprised of Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi.
Not since 2006 have the illustrious pairing played together when they decided to split to pursue solo careers after spending years remixing tracks in tandem for some of the music industry’s biggest names such as Madonna, Cher and Janet Jackson to name but a few and even scooping a Grammy for their rework of Dido’s chart hit ‘Thank You’. Now after years of speculation, rumors and hoping the duo have delighted fans by uploading a countdown clock upon their website DeepDish.com
Whilst further details of exactly what the clock was counting down to was a mystery they have now revealed that they will indeed by reuniting for a show at Miami’s Ice Palace on Saturday, March 29 and will then be release their new single ‘Quincy’ on Virgin Records just two days later which can be heard courtesy of Pete Tong as his Essential New Tune on BBC Radio 1 in the video below. Colour us excited!
