Moderat drop the new video for ‘Eating Hooks’

Moderat, consisting of Berlin’s electronic heavyweights Modeselektor and Apparat, recently released their new album III, the final installment to their trilogy.

This was, and still is most apparent on “lll'”s opening track, “Eating Hooks”. Not since 2013’s “Bad Kingdom” was there a more soaring, more lilting electronic ballad for us heads to coll our own. Atop a syncopated, elegantly skeletal beat, sometimes offset by deeply visceral LFO boss, sometimes punctuated by haunting acoustic artefacts, sometimes awash with enveloping shoegoze fuzz.

The video for “Eating Hooks” is out today, the beautiful video was shot by Pfadfinderei. It features the moving dance styles of Rubberlegz, translating the songs lyrics into a struggle of limbs. Watch him solemnly twist and turn his body into impossible knots and hooks to the soundtrack of “Eating Hooks”.

The whole release drops on a 10” and 12” singles and digital bundle.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
