Ambient techno veteran Moby has certainly been keeping busy of late with a series of tour dates at some of the scenes hottest events, the re-launch of free music website for artists and charities and the unveiling of plans for a new album. Following on from 2011’s Destroyed Moby has revealed another full studio effort is set to drop for us October 1st via Mute. As one of electronic music’s most recognizable figures it is an exciting announcement and follows the glut of big name album releases that have so far dominated 2013.
Entitled Innocents the new album features a host of stellar names Moby has collaborated with for the new work, most notably Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, with further contributions from London outfit Cold Specks and American multi-instrumentalist Skylar Grey.
In further exciting news regarding the release Moby has confirmed that despite the fact the upcoming tour to promote the album consists of just three date, all of which are in L.A that the world at large will be able to witness one of the hotly anticipated performances live via the internet for free.
The performance selected to stream is Moby’s October 4 appearance at the Fonda Theater and will be shown live in its entirety via online streaming giant Evntlive, followed by a repeat showing later on. Billed as ‘Moby with special guests’ we remain hopeful that several of the techno maestros friends and collaborators from ‘Innoocents’ may make an appearance.
