Mix Of The Day: Exclusive Stefano Ritteri Mix

Every so often, amongst the Lithuanian gabba CDs, hopelessly small T-shirts and Inland Revenue notices, something lands on the DT desk that blows our mismatched flip-flops off. The last time we used Bluetooth in the DT office was 2007 and the intern left after those pictures went viral.

However Spaced 360 have taken things to an entirely new level with their new Bluetooth creation. It looks like one of Darth Vaders high school design projects and it sounds magnificent. An intense amount of reassuringly complicated science has gone creating a 360 sound – so stick this Transformers-also-ran anywhere: on your desk, under your bed, in the shower and it will still deliver fist-pumpingly, sex-face-ingly good beats.

To celebrate the speakers release we’ve hooked up with Italian house and techno maestro (and fellow Spaced 360 fan) Stefano Ritteri to deliver today’s exclusive mix of the day for your listening pleasure. Stefano is not a new name in the game, former aliases have seen him hold residencies at clubs such as Fabric in London and release on the elite of house labels such as Dirtybird and Sound Pellegrino. More recently Stefano’s label accreditation includes Pets Recordiings, Exploited, Viva, Saved, KD Music and OFF Recordings, this music has led to outstanding international gigs and a string of high profile remixes. So we think you’ll agree here’s a guy who knows his stuff both in the studio and behind the decks. So with this in mind we asked him a few questions about the mix and his future plans.

Good Grooves Never Fail To Make Everyone Happy, Thank God!What’s your personal favourite track on the mix?

Well, there is a forthcoming song of mine “I am going home” which at the moment makes me really happy. What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

In every mix that I record I try to play some tracks that are different from what we usually hear in clubs, I like to go digging for some special tunes. What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?

Some weeks ago we had a party for my label Congaloid in a small club in London. The atmosphere was very special, maybe this was because there were so many friends there or maybe it was due to quality and strength of the cocktails we were enjoying but either it was really a good night for me and the whole crew!  What have you got coming up?

I have been touring like crazy in the past few months, and I have been trying to write new ideas on just my laptop and the Spaced360 speaker,  (which I gotta say works really well for hotel room after parties!). Now I have a few weeks off from travelling so I can work on those and other ideas. I feel like experimenting a lot. And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

Play this mix loud!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
