Max Chapman Collabs With Fan Alfie Nelson To Give Away ‘Febreze’ As A Free Download

Max Chapman 4

You might have seen on Data Transmission last week when Alfie Nelson chance his luck and won a day in the Studio with Max Chapman through the power of social media. Well Alfie joined Max this week and a dream became a reality in Max’s Essex studio.  We have the first plays of the track they produced and now is a Free Download over on Max’s Soundcloud.

‘Febreze’ is the result of Alfie’s vision combined with the engineering skills of Max Chapman – whose recent Elrow release ‘Body Jack’ hit the Beatport #1.

Max said:  “When I first received the message from Alfie I was shocked that he had asked me. There are plenty of huge producers out that there that he could have thought about messaging and the fact that he chose me made me feel very humbled and so it was a no brainer for me to say yes.

Alfie wanted the post to reach 5k likes, 2k comments and 1k shares and he absolutely smashed it in about two and a half days!

I arranged to book a day into my studio as soon as possible which we agreed would be Tuesday 20th September, 4 days after he reached his target. Alfie arrived at 11am and we were done and dusted by 4pm and that was with a lunch break! If you’re wondering where the track name came from, we put a video clip up of our progress half way through and a couple of people commented on the Febreze spray on my desk – the track was sounding fresh so it just made perfect sense!

Alfie came into the studio with some great ideas and a really creative way of thinking – he led the direction of the track and I think that once he gets the hang of laying beats down himself, we’ll be hearing some big tunes from him. It was a pleasure having him down and so nice to work with someone so excited and passionate about his music.”

Alfie Nelson says  “I was shocked and really excited to see that Max had replied and accepted me on my challenge! It didn’t take long for the numbers to climb and the challenge was a success! Within a week’s time I found myself sitting next to Max Chapman in his studio, he showed me a lot of new things and techniques that I will be able to use when producing my own material.  Working with him has definitely given me a lot more confidence when writing a track as I feel I have a clearer head on where to start now. He is an all-round great guy!”

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
