Matteo Floris drops his ‘Shakaman’ EP

Share

Next up on Swerve Digital is the ‘Shakaman” EP from Matteo Floris – a four-track affair consisting of two heavy, impeccable productions, with remixes from Chicks Luv Us and Andre Salmon.

Matteo hails from the tiny island of Sardinia, just off the coast of Italy but now calls Barcelona his home after studying Music Business at the SAE Institute.  Matteo began selecting the music in lieu of accompanied drumming and after a few years, he wanted something of his own to play in the clubs. That’s when he turned his hand towards producing and bringing together his different musical tastes and influences including Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk and of course Chicago House. Groove and melodies are a high priority for this budding DJ/Producer and it is his skills on the dance-floor as a B-boy/Break-dancer that makes sure he’s delivering cuts designed to get you moving.

Our premiere today, ‘Whaum’ delivers another slice of madness as Matteo drives the track with the perpetual sub-bass pattern injecting cut-up vocal stabs, some beautiful high synth melodies and some occasional Hoover-style synths to create a DJ’s dream record.

We absolutely love it! If you do, grab a copy from Beatport.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
