After spending the last 18 months fulfilling a hectic touring schedule of dates around the globe and the release of their sophomore album ‘Free The Universe’ back in April, Major Lazer have confirmed plans for a third album that they plan to finish writing before the end of the year.

Revealing the plans for the upcoming album whilst on a solo tour of Australia one third of the outfit alongside Diplo and Walshy Fire, Jillionaire told Triple J “I think that once this year shuts down we’re gonna pull it back in and do a lot less touring. Right now we’re going in to a bunch of writing sessions for the next album, and hopefully we’re gonna finish that off by the end of the year.”

The unorthodox trio’s last album was subject to a series of delays with the release date pushed back no less than three times and fans will no doubt be hoping that they don’t have to wait quite as long this time for the bands latest full studio effort. We’ll keep you posted as more details become available.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
