Fire Destroys Festsaal Kreuzberg

In a dramatic turn of events in Berlin, popular nightspot Festsaal Kreuzberg was seriously damaged by a fire on Saturday night. Local reports suggest the blaze began at around 9pm local time and wasn’t fully extinguished for over 9 hours as the fire raged on until 6.30am on the Sunday morning.

We’re pleased to report that no people were seriously injured in the inferno but the full extent of the wreckage is still yet to be ascertained with many fearing the worst due to the largely wooded interior of the venue. There has been no word as yet from the club as to if they plan to reopen but a formal statement from Festaal can be found below. We hope that it’s not the last we hear of the venue as we have special memories associate with the ballroom style venue involving a certain Theo Parrish and hope to see the establishment back on its feet in the near future.

“SPECIAL REPORT: With a heavy heart we lead report that our beloved ballroom Kreuzberg has died on the eve of the ausgebrochenem by about 21.00 clock fire on 21.07.2013 morning at 6:30 clock. The Berlin fire department has given her best to prevent that. The only relatively good news for us is that, according to Fire except one slightly injured colleague no other persons were harmed.

After 9 years of ballroom Kreuzberg, many great concerts, weddings, recitals, boxing events and parties, the program comes first at this location for succumb.

Thank you to all the staff, friends, artists, guests and organizers. Thank you that you were there. We’ll keep you up to date.”
