Aaron Und Pascal – In Front of You

imagesSFT.jpgLabel: Sorry for ThisScore: 8.5/10

Sorry For This turn to Aaron und Pascal for their first release, a very slick and cerebral excursion into deep dancefloor sounds that suspend you in warmth and subterranean atmosphere. The first track is In Front of You, a nicely propulsive yet warm and womby track that shuffles on finely crafted percussion, bursts of devilish sub and locks you right in the groove. It’s Meander man and house reductionist Ion Ludwig who quickens the pace and makes the drums that bit snappier. It’s a simpatico remix that, with its sharpened edges, arrests attention that bit more than the beautifully sleepy original.

The other original is On The Moon, a fine and blissful excursion into the nether regions of dub techno. Full of rippling widescreen chords and myriad little aquatic details like floating flotsam, it’s an evocative track and closes out a fantastic EP.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
