It seems DT favorite Jesse Rose has developed more than a little affinity with the number 12 with a series of projects that have releases and a touring schedule that consists of 12 parts. 18 months ago Jesse came up with a concept for his upcoming releases: release an album worth of tracks in digestible pieces over the course of an entire year.
Thus came the 12×12 series: twelve releases released on the 12th of each month. This enabled DJs and fans to be able to take in a body of music piece by piece, and enabled Jesse to accent each track with a remix, an instrumental, or even an entirely separate track. Now in 2014, Jesse Rose is taking the best of his grand idea of a broken down, bite-size release, rearranging, editing, reworking, and re-mastering it into a full-length album that pays outlines his ambition for a structured album.
Released on Jesse’s own Play it Down imprint in February 2014 his third full studio effort entitled ‘The Whole Twelve Inches’ has been two years in the making, and already had support from some of the scenes most illustrious names including Loco Dice, Derrick Carter, Soul Clap, Matthias Tanzmann, Skream and Annie Mac to name but a few. The tour to promote the album will then see Jesse play 12 selected dates in 12 cities over two continents.
Today sees the remix album for ‘The Whole Twelve Inches’ released featuring twelve exclusive mixes by: Mathias Tanzmann, Sebo K, Guti, Mathias Kaden, Christian Nielsen, Ninetoes, Ardalan, Davide Squillace, Doorly and Victor Marso amongst others. To celebrate the release we’ve nabbed the Guti’s rework of ‘Underbelly’ for your listening pleasure this afternoon as an exclusive premiere. Enjoy.
