We’ve not seen the music media falling over themselves to anoint an artist as the next big thing in the way many are fighting to heap praise on rising star Evian Christ for a while now. With the hype machine in full swing it seems that nothing can derail the producers ascent to superstardom with each day seeming to bring a new story regarding the man born Joshua Leary.
That said, this is hype with good reason as despite sounding liking a Pontiff endorsed brand of overpriced French mineral water we admit his work is pretty cool and that we probably haven’t been caught so off guard by a producer since Burial first emerged into the public consciousness. Now ahead of a hotly anticipated performance at East London’s Oval Space on March 21st alongside Travi$ Scott, Millie & Andrea, Lil Silva, Sophie, Mssingno and Powel as part of his European tour he as made his hotly anticipated four track EP entitled ‘Waterfall’ on Tri Angle available for stream via his website.
The four track release consisting of new cuts ‘Salt Carousel’, ‘Propeller’, ‘Fuck Idol’ and ‘Waterfall’ further showcase Joshua’s raw rugged approach to production and will be sure to cause quite a kerfuffle when it lands next week as the follow up to his 2012 effort ‘Kings And Them’ EP and work on Kanye West’s Yeezus’.
