Few people have given as much to electronic music as Mr. C, whether it be through his poetical musings as part of seminal electronic outfit The Shamen to running legendary London nightspot The End, his place in electronic music folklore is well assured. Adding further chapters to this legacy is his Superfreq brand which serves as both a party and a label to showcase those at the vanguard of the scene. The latest release to come from the esteemed imprint is a collaborative effort from label affiliates Inxec and Julia Govor with their Ai Need You EP.

Backed by some stellar remixes from the likes of Derek Marin, Meandisco and Noel Jackson Ai Need You is a classic slice of cosmic house that adds yet another impressive entry into Inxec’s already illustrious back catalogue.

Speaking on the emotive nature of the release the two explain the collaborative process that went into the release  “We definitely didn’t use our brains. We used our emotions and Inxec worked from Barcelona, Julia from Moscow. We used found-sounds of breaking dishes, playing silver spoons, voices of the city, opening doors and closing eyes.”

It is the capture of these emotions, coupled with abstract synths  and subtle samples whilst being underpinned by an almost driving melody (an unusual concept we know) that made us such fans of the original track. So whilst being fans of the various remixes for various different reasons we had to secure the original cut as our choice for exclusive premiere. Out on the 7th of July you can exclusively check it out below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
