Enei Announces ‘Rituals’

There’s very little, if anything, Critical Music gets wrong when it comes to output. Kasra has an uncanny knack of always managing to get the best out of his own artists, as well as anyone guest starring on the label. Thus you can imagine our excitement at news that the unstoppable force of Critical Music would be ploughing onwards this December with a new album from Russia’s game-changing drum and bass prodigy Enei.

A collection of 16 tracks, plus an additional digital-only bonus VIP, the ‘Rituals’ LP finds St. Petersburg produce in an eclectic mood, launching percussive attacks from the darkest depths of bass. Offering up a smorgasbord of rollers and tech demons, the album features a host of big name collaborations – Mefjus, Foreign Concept, Kasra and Eastcolors all make appearances – and feels set to be one of the key releases this Christmas.

“I’ve simply got so many ideas in my head, writing every day,” Enei reveals. “The album name came about from a real love for various native and world musics, very ritualistic as are we all in our daily lives. We live by rituals, really, when you think about it.”
