When we spoke to Duke Dumont last year we found it a most reassuring process. Far removed from the doom mongers that dominate the blogosphere, here is a man who truly loves, respects and understands the scenes innermost workings.
Raised in North West London as the son of a record dealer, Adam Dyment has seen a lot of changes over his already storied career and sees most of them as for the better. Rather than jealously guard his profession and own interests the man who topped the charts under his musical moniker of Duke Dumont has openly spoke of his joy at the new found accessibility, with fans having more freedom to enjoy and craft electronic music than ever before.
It’s easy to see why Duke has so much optimism with work for his own album to be released in 2014 looking to build on a stellar 2013. Now following the sharing of his fresh remix of Tensnake’s ‘Love Sublime’; a track that saw the disco loving German initially hook up with serial collaborators Fiora and Nile Rodgers he then revealed his new single ‘I Got U’, complete with vocals from Jax Jones set for release on his own Blasé Boys Club imprint and it was safe to say we’d been unable to get either out of our heads or off of our playlist.
We thought it was a certainty to become an anthem as the temperature began to rise and our now delighted to see ‘I Got U’s tropical vibes perched at the top of the charts to score Duke his second UK number one. Congratulations again Adam!
