DIRTYBIRD Picks up a New Artist in Robot Love with ‘Wallflower’ EP
The enigmatic Robot Love has been slowly catching attention through his experimental-minded club cuts. His styling aligns with works from Four Tet, Bonobo, and others. He now makes a debut on DIRTYBIRD, with his ‘Wallflower’ EP.
DIRTYBIRD’s latest release captures the adventurous spirit that has long laid with the label. The LA-based artist caught Claude VonStroke’s attention immediately upon his SoundCloud being discovered. Robot Love offers a breath of fresh air for the label’s 2020 rotation.
‘Wallflower’ is crafted entirely on modular synths, giving the EP a warm, full-bodied-tone. Robot Love takes a jazzy direction, beginning with the steely, but lush instrumentation and glitchy effects of the opening “Luc’s Love.”
Then comes “Boxwood,” whose playful riffs interspersed with chord triplets listen like an improvised jam session.
We are a big fan now, check out the tracks and grab it here.
