Here at DT we’ve been tipping Amsterdam up and comers Detroit Swindle for a while. Now it seems the dutch duo are ready to take the next step in their fledgling careers in electronic music with the launch of the own imprint in the shape of Heist Recordings.

As a pairing Detroit Swindle have had an impressive last 12 months as they’ve traversed the globe with a series of energetic live and DJing performance whilst dropping releases on some of the scenes most credible labels such as Freerange, Saints & Sonnets and Tsuba. Now launching their own label their inaugural release is predictably an effort from the boys themselves for a new two track EP entitled ‘Break Up To Make Up’ on June 24th.  The new endeavour isn’t solely to free up their own artistic nuances however with plans to release material  from of “known and unknown artists that share their feel for dark, sweaty clubs.” If you’re in to deep house and have a pulse then this might well be a label worth watching in the coming months…

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
