Debut Transmission: Orchester Ambros Seelos – Mondgesicht

Dedicated crate-diggers, Psychemagik, return with Part Two of their acclaimed Magik Sunset compilation series, bring together rare and eclectic funk, soul, disco and folk, mined from the forgotten depths of the ’70s and ’80s.

Pyschemagik’s passion for vinyl has rewarded the UK duo with an unmatched collection, pushed them into becoming well respected remixes and creating several compilations, including Magik Cyrkles and Magik Sunrise.

Released on gatefold double LP, double CD and digital, Magik Sunset Part Two collects 13 tracks “mainly released in extremely small numbers, sometimes only on private presses and only reaching specific parts of the world.” Via the press release, Danny McLewin of the band explains how, when putting together Magik Sunset, Psychemagik were so inundated with music they had to split the compilation into the two parts we now see. “We ended up with the format being expanded to a feast worthy of two editions of double vinyl,” he says, “if only as a respectful nod to the incredible tunes and vibrations being realised, the project simply evolved into two volumes.”

Taken from the album, our premiere today is a laid back trip through funk from Germany’s Orchester Ambros Seelos. Stream the track below, and head over to the Leng Records website from September 4th to grab a copy of the full release.
