Debut Transmission: Jey Kurmis – Not Too Flabbeh
Intoxicating tech-house is the sort of stuff that the Hot Creations camp has built its reputation on and in Jey Kurmis, Jamie Jones and Lee Foss‘ groundbreaking independent dance label have again been able to lean on a producer whose job it is to rock the party to its core. With his previous inclinations enticing him to the likes of Moon Harbour, Resonance Records and Viva Music, that probably comes as little surprise.
Not Too Flabbeh EP, then, is one that expertly plays to the guys’ strengths, with a two well drawn-out tracks and a heavy duty Jamie Jones remix gloriously shimmying up against one another. With each cut as potent as the next, it’s hard to pick a winner, although the title track does offer serious bang for your buck.
Not too Flabbeh’ was made with my friends Nukov & Yelmet from Belgium,” Jey explains. “I love the rolling bass, the catchy vox and how the playful lyrics basically sum me up! Jamie has stepped in once again, this time to do a re-edit of ‘Farno’. I love what he’s done and it certainly shows his expertise especially on the dancefloor. ‘Monkle’ really works in the club too with its trippy vox and melody.”
